Pool Hours and Rules

The Brookhaven swimming pool is a privately owned recreation entity, entirely funded by annual assessment of residents. The Brookhaven HOA Board of Directors administers the pool rules and regulations. The day-to-day management of the pool is the responsibility of Carolina Pool Management. The use of our pool is a privilege extended to Brookhaven homeowners and residents in good standing and their guests.

We are utilizing an online check-in system at the pool. Please be sure that the household member information on your account is current to speed up the check-in process. You do not need to make a reservation to use the pool.

General Rules

No one is allowed on the pool deck or in the pool for any reason when the pool is not open, except during lap swim hours by those who have signed the waiver.
Lifeguards are to be treated with respect at all times. Complaints about lifeguards should be directed to: Carolina Pool Management.
The Pool Managers and Lifeguards are responsible for enforcing the Pool Rules established by the Board of Directors for your safety, health, and comfort. This includes closing the pool for emergencies including weather, maintenance and sanitation.
Foul and abusive language will not be tolerated and are grounds for expulsion from the pool. An incident report will be filed which may lead to a suspension of pool privileges.
Soft balls can be used to play catch. No throwing of hard balls, tennis balls or footballs. Do no throw balls at each other.
Headphones must be worn while listening to music. No speakers or radios permitted.
Admittance to the pool and pool deck is for Brookhaven homeowners in good standing and their guests.
Each household will receive two amenity access fobs. Fobs must be used to enter the pool. Lifeguards are not permitted to open the gate for a person without a working fob.
All pool attendees are required to electronically sign in for each visit to the pool. You must have a Brookhaven website account to be able to sign in.
No one, regardless of age, may use the pool unless they are either (1) a strong and competent swimmer, or (2) are under the direct and constant supervision of a strong and competent swimmer.
All residents are required to familiarize themselves and their guests with all of the pool rules.
No one, regardless of age, should swim alone.
Lap swimming in the lap lane and takes precedence over non-lap swimming. No jumping into lap lane from the side.
Early morning lap swimmers must complete a waiver in advance in order to gain early entry to the pool.
Gates to pool may not be propped open.
No running, pushing, horseplay, dunking, or holding people under water.
No jumping from the lifeguard stand, off of a persons’ shoulders, or jumping from the side of the pool on another person or flotation device.
Diving is not permitted anywhere in the pool.
No loitering in the bathrooms or hallways.
No wet swimsuits in gym or playroom.
Shatter-prone items prohibited – this includes glass, ceramic, porcelain, or other easily breakable items.
No alcoholic beverages are allowed for anyone under the age of 21 years old. Consumption of alcohol is a matter of personal preference. Containers of alcoholic beverages must be concealed.
Intoxicated behavior will not be tolerated. Persons exhibiting intoxicated behavior will be asked to leave the premises (escorted out if necessary). An incident report will be filed which may lead to a suspension of pool privileges.
All swimmers need to shower before entering the pool.
No smoking or vaping on the pool deck or in the pool.
Food is not permitted in the pool and must be consumed away from the perimeter of the pool.
The cleanup of food items and trash are the responsibility of the resident.
Water wings, small flotation devices, and small inflatable toys are permitted but are subject to lifeguard discretion.
No pets, bicycles, skateboards, scooters, or rollerblades are allowed on the pool deck at any time.
No person is allowed to swim with an open wound or an eye or skin infection.
Any person who is incontinent or not fully potty-trained must wear appropriate waterproof clothing or swim diapers while in the pool. No exceptions.
Cut offs and indecent swim wear are not permitted in pool area.
Residents who have had their amenity privileges revoked may not enter the pool area as guests.
The HOA Board of Directors, lifeguards and Pool Committee have the authority, when deemed necessary, to expel or revoke access anytime for misbehavior, use of abusive language, or apparent intoxication. The health and safety of the members and their guests are ultimately their own responsibility and pool users use the pool at their own risk.
The Brookhaven Neighborhood Association and HOA Board of Directors are not responsible for the loss or damage of personal property.

Large floats will only be allowed during non-peak times and at the lifeguards’ discretion.
No hanging on the lane ropes.
Lounge chairs and tables are available on a first come, first serve basis. You must be present to secure seating. Seating is forfeited when you leave the pool area. Pool furniture must remain on pool deck.
Pump room is for lifeguards and staff only.
No pop up tents permitted in pool area without prior authorization from pool committee.
No chewing gum is permitted while on the deck or in the pool.
For liability reasons, the pool management company does not permit private swim lessons at the pool.
The HOA Board of Directors reserves the right to amend these rules and regulations at any time and without notice.

Water Slide Rules

Rider assumes all risk of injury due to misuse of the slide or failure to follow the rules.
WARNING: Failure to follow the rules can result in serious injury.
WARNING: Water depth at the bottom of slide in plunge pool is 3 feet 6 inches.

All riders must be at least 48 inches tall to ride.
Height must be measured by a lifeguard.
Maximum rider weight is 300 pounds.
Non-swimmers are not permitted.
Riders must sit at top of slide and wait for instructions from life guard to start.
Riders must enter feet first while lying down on their back with arms and legs crossed.
Do not sit up during the ride. Remain in riding position until you exit the slide.
Do not propel yourself into ride.
Only 1 rider at a time. No trains or chains permitted.
No tubes, mats, life jackets or water wings or flotation devices of any kind permitted on the slide.
No foreign objects are allowed in pockets and no jewelry, zippers, buckles or rivets allowed on clothing. Only approved swimwear allowed.
The line should form on deck with one rider on each landing and one rider in start position.
Riders must be in good health.
Do not use this slide while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
No diving from the slide.
Leave plunge pool promptly after entering. No waiting at the bottom to catch another rider.

Lazy River Rules

No Lifeguard on Duty-Swim at Your Own Risk

Only enter the lazy river using the stairs.
Jumping or sliding into or across the lazy river from the pool deck is prohibited.
A tube must be used while in the lazy river.
No swimming or walking without a tube is permitted.
Tubes must stay in lazy river or on posts.
Tubes may not be saved.
Do not drag tubes across concrete.
Do not sit on tubes on concrete.
Do not jump on tubes in lazy river.
No “playing catch” or throwing balls/ toys in the lazy river.
No lifesaving flotation devices allowed in the lazy river.
No non-swimmers allowed in lazy river unless accompanied by an adult.

Guest Policy

Each resident household is permitted to have a maximum of 6 guests per day. No more than 3 guests per household on holidays and holiday weekends. A holiday weekend is defined as Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday if the holiday falls on any of those days.
A guest pass is required for each guest.
Each resident household is provided 30 free guest passes for the pool season. Guest passes are electronic and are deducted from your account by the lifeguard upon check-in at the pool.
Additional guest passes may be purchased for $5 per pass, 10 passes for $45, or 20 passes for $90. Guest passes may be purchased on the Manage Account screen, by clicking on Payments\Make a Payment or by using the button below.
Pool guests must be accompanied by the host resident who is age 15 years old and above at all times. Residents bringing guests must remain with the guest and stay within the fenced pool area at all times (i.e., not in the fitness center, clubhouse, playground or anywhere outside the fenced pool area).
Unaccompanied residents ages 15-17 years old are permitted only 2 guests, per day, per household.
Guest passes are non-transferable, non-refundable, cannot be shared among residents and expire at the end of each pool season.
For purposes of the Guest Policy, a household is defined as a resident and their grandparents, parents, children and grandchildren. Nannies, caregivers and babysitters may also be included in the household.
All members of the household must be added to the household account to check-in at the pool.
Residents must provide their guests’ name when signing in.
Residents will be held responsible for their guests’ actions and must advise them on all pool rules. Guests who violate the pool rules, may result in the host resident losing pool privileges for the season.
Lifeguards have the authority to limit guests at any time during the day based on pool capacity limits being reached.
Failure to follow the guest and guest pass policies may result in household pool privileges being revoked for the pool season.

Memorial Day & Labor Day: 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

SLIDE HOURS

Weekends before Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Memorial Day: 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m.
School Days May 11th – June 5th and August 25th through September 4th: Closed
All non-school Days: May 30th through July 4th: 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m.
All Days July 5th through August 24th: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
All Weekends beginning August 30th through Labor Day: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Weekends after Labor Day: Closed

SWIM MEETS

The pool will close at 3:30 on the following days for home swim meets. Come out and support your Brookhaven Barracudas!

LAP SWIM

Swim at Your Own Risk 5:00am to 10:00am daily on open pool days: NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY (Waiver required). Waivers are only valid for the current pool season and must be re-submitted each year.

LAZY RIVER IS SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK WITH NO LIFEGUARD COVERAGE

Pool Parties

Residents are allowed to host pool parties during normal pool hours. Please see the Pool Party Policy and Procedures for costs and instructions.

Lap Swimming

Lap swimming before pool hours is at your own risk, for residents that have signed the lap swimming waiver. You must sign the waiver using the Amenity Card Service Request form in order for your key fob to be authorized for early pool access. The waiver is valid for the current calendar year only and must be signed annually. See the Hours tab for this season’s lap swimming hours. Lap swimming is during open pool season only.
