Community Update – Amenities and Landscaping

Dear Brookhaven Homeowners,

The Board continues to work with NCDOT regarding both the new traffic light along Antioch Church Road and the streets within the Preserve.

As many of you know, repairs to the Preserve streets are expected to be a significant expense for the Association. With that in mind, the Board is being thoughtful and financially responsible when evaluating additional projects and amenity improvements.

The Board understands there is interest in adding pickleball as a community amenity, and recent homeowner feedback supported exploring this option. However, with the anticipated costs related to the Preserve streets and potential drainage repairs near the pool, the Board is not planning to move forward with a permanent pickleball investment at this time.

Instead, the Board will work with community committees to explore temporary or lower-cost solutions that would allow homeowners to play pickleball without using the current tennis nets. A more permanent solution may be revisited once there is a clearer picture of upcoming infrastructure expenses.

We also appreciate the homeowners who have reached out regarding landscaping and common area concerns. The Board and Cusick are actively working with Lawrence Landscape to address issues and improve the overall condition of the community. More to come!

As always, please reach out to [email protected] with any questions or suggestions.
